PV Distribution Boards (PVDBs)
Bespoke AC distribution boards engineered for solar PV — inverter ways, metering, protection and the DNO interface in one tested panel.
A solar installation deserves better than a general-purpose board with parts bolted on. ENICO builds PV distribution boards (PVDBs) designed around the job: the right number of inverter ways at the right ratings, generation metering, surge protection and the isolation the DNO and your O&M team expect — assembled and tested as one panel.
Because every roof, array and connection agreement is different, PVDBs are built to your system design — from a compact board for a commercial rooftop to multi-panel arrangements for larger ground-mount sites — with G99 protection and G100 export limitation integrated where the scheme calls for it.
Built around your system
Inverter ways to your design
Dedicated, individually protected ways for each inverter at the ratings your string design produces — with spare ways for expansion if you want them.
Generation metering
MID-approved generation metering built in where readings feed FIT/PPA billing or export accounting — including a fused supply and space for free-issued generation meters where the scheme requires them.
Surge and fault protection
Type 1/2 or Type 2 SPDs, appropriately rated protective devices and clear discrimination with the site's existing distribution.
The DNO interface, integrated
Lockable isolation for the DNO and maintenance, with G99 protection and G100 export limitation built into the same assembly where required — one panel, one witness test.
Enclosures for real sites
Steel or GRP, internal or weatherproof, sized for the plant room, roof plant area or ground-mount kiosk it has to live in.

Common questions
What do you need to quote a PVDB?
The inverter schedule (make, model, quantity), the point of connection details and the site's supply arrangement — usually all on your single-line diagram. Send what you have and we'll ask for the rest.
Can the PVDB include the G99 protection and export limitation?
Yes — that's the point of building it as one panel. Protection relay, export-limitation controls and metering can all live in the same assembly, which means one delivery, one set of documentation and one DNO witness visit. We can also pre-install Plantstream monitoring, so the system reports from day one.
Do you build for outdoor installation?
Yes. Weatherproof steel or GRP enclosures with appropriate IP ratings for roof plant areas and ground-mount locations — tell us where it's going and we'll spec the enclosure to match.
Is a PVDB the same as a DC combiner box?
No — a PVDB is the AC board downstream of the inverters, aggregating and protecting their outputs. DC string combiners sit upstream of the inverter on the DC side. ENICO builds the AC side: the PVDB, its protection, metering and the DNO interface.

Pricing a pv distribution boards job?
Send whatever you have — a drawing, a spec, or a description of the problem — and we'll come back with a straight quotation: standard panels in hours, complex projects priced properly.
