Changeover & ATS Panels
Manual and automatic transfer panels that move your load between mains and standby — built to your spec.
When the mains fails, the changeover panel is the thing standing between your site and a dark building. ENICO builds manual changeover panels, motorised changeover panels and full automatic transfer switch (ATS) panels with mains sensing and generator start signalling — from small single-phase switchboards to large three-phase assemblies, for generator and battery-storage (ESS) systems alike.
Standard configurations are quick to quote and repeatable; where your application needs bypass facilities, particular controllers or unusual enclosure arrangements, we engineer the panel around it.
The range
Manual changeover panels
Break-before-make switching between two supplies with clear indication and mechanical interlocking — the simple, dependable option where an operator is available.
Motorised changeover panels
Remote or push-button transfer using motorised switches, with volt-free signalling to your control system.
Automatic transfer switch (ATS) panels
Mains-failure detection, generator start signalling, timed transfer and return — the panel manages the whole outage without anyone on site.
Synchronous (no-break) transfer
Where the load can't see an interruption, we build synchronous transfer panels on Deep Sea Electronics or ComAp controllers — the load rides through while supplies swap underneath it, with the G99 protection engineered into the same job.
Bypass arrangements
Bypass-isolation configurations for sites that must keep the load fed while the transfer switch is maintained or replaced.
Generator integration
Start signals, run-on timers and status indication coordinated with your generator's controller — designed alongside our generator control panels.
Capability at a glance
| Transfer types | Manual, motorised, automatic (ATS) — break-before-make or synchronous (no-break) — with bypass options |
|---|---|
| Controllers | Deep Sea Electronics and ComAp for synchronous and advanced schemes; remote generator start supported |
| Ratings | Single- and three-phase; rated to your load — tell us the amperage and poles |
| Design standard | BS EN 61439; life-safety applications engineered to the specification (e.g. BS 8519 where required) |
| Signalling | Volt-free generator start, status and alarm contacts |
| Testing | Functional transfer testing before dispatch; certificate supplied |
Common questions
Manual, motorised or automatic — which do I need?
If someone competent is on site and a few minutes of outage is acceptable, manual changeover is the economical choice. If you need remote transfer, go motorised. If the site must ride through failures unattended — with the generator started automatically — you need an ATS. We're happy to talk it through against your site's needs.
Can the panel start our generator automatically?
Yes. ATS panels include mains sensing and a volt-free start signal with adjustable delays, compatible with standard generator controllers. Tell us the generator make and controller when you enquire.
Do you build changeover panels for life-safety systems?
Where the specification calls for secondary power to life-safety systems (for example to BS 8519), we engineer the panel to the specified requirements. Send the specification with your enquiry.
